TCC Pre-K - Ginyaangbaa - Happy Place

Taree Christian College Pre-K will be a happy place of learning and fun! It will be our Ginyaangbaa or happy place. A place where precious little 4 year old children will be safe and thrive under the caring, nurturing love of our TCC staff.

Children who attend TCC Pre-K will be exposed to rich and exciting daily learning experiences, where developmental play and discovery-based learning experiences encourage a desire to investigate, learn and grow. Each day our qualified teacher will set up carefully planned, engaging activities for our students to play, learn and discover. These activities will take place both indoors and outside.

Our desire is to equip the students of Pre-K with the necessary pre literacy and numeracy skills for a successful and smooth transition into Kindergarten. There will also be a focus on each child’s social development. Our students will learn to communicate, empathise, share and play kindly and cooperatively, all of which will build strong interpersonal skills. The students will be exposed to a wide range of learning activities with the intention of developing skills in a range of areas. They will be engaged in a breadth of activities that include reading, phonics, music, maths, art, science and sport, just to mention a few.

The Pre-K will be situated on the grounds of our beautiful College. The students will begin their journey of learning on the same site that they hopefully will finish at, from Pre-K to Year 12. They will be exposed to the daily life of the College and will have opportunities to meet other TCC staff members and visit different areas of the College, including the Information Service Centre (ISC or library), The Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC or gym) and the Theatrette.

As a Christian College we believe it is important to grow the whole child: socially, physically, emotionally, academically and spiritually. Children who attend TCC Pre-K will have opportunities to learn from the Bible about our great God; who Jesus is and what He did, and about the continued work of the Holy Spirit. Through a variety of learning experiences children will also learn about God’s wonderful creation.

At TCC, we desire to create lifelong learners and we believe in the importance of working closely with families to help children transition into school life, to thrive and grow into people that God intends. This is a journey we take together and we are so excited by it!
